Students were permitted to initiate registration by completing Part 1 of the application form, which encompasses the basic information of candidates, starting from May 11. Additionally, Part 2 of the form is now accessible for FYJC candidates. A provisional general merit list is scheduled to be published on May 14. From the previous academic year, the online CAP for FYJC admissions has been made available to all junior colleges throughout the state. For the academic year 2026-27, students were allowed to fill out Part 1 of the form beginning April 10, 2026. According to information provided by the Director of School (Secondary) Education, who oversees FYJC admissions, nearly 8 lakh students had completed Part 1 of the form by the time the SSC results were announced on May 8. Part 2 of the application, which is currently open for candidates, requires details such as the marks achieved in Class 10 and the names of colleges (a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10) listed in order of preference for admission.

The admission procedure will consist of three standard rounds, with a fourth round designated as an ‘open to all’ round, and a special fifth round exclusively for girls. Students are encouraged to finalize the registration process in accordance with the provided guidelines. Currently, two schedules have been announced – one for the ‘zero round’, which includes admissions under Minority, management, and in-house quotas, and another for the first CAP Round, which pertains to regular admissions. Updated schedules will be released periodically.
