The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended last date for MBBS admission to fill the remaining vacant seats in Deemed Universities till 11 February 2021.
The Medical Counselling Committee in a circular dated February 8 has announced that the admissions to Under Graduate Medical Programme i.e. MBBS will be continued till February 11, 2021. This step has been taken to fill the seats available across various Deemed Universities. The NEET UG counselling dates have been extended till February 11 following a Supreme Court order dated 5 February 2021.
“The last date of admission to MBBS course has been extended by one week from the date of issue of order i.e. February 5, 2021. Accordingly, the last date of admission to MBBS courses will be February 11, 2021,” MCC circular said.
The admission authority has decided to conduct an ‘offline’ stray vacancy round II for the vacant seats in MBBS program. The Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) is administering authority for this round.
According to MCC circular a total of 5 MBBS seats are vacant across five All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The AIIMS, New Delhi will administer the admission for these seats. In addition, 37 seats are vacant across five deemed institutes under non-resident Indian (NRI) and management quotas including 17 vacant seats from DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai under NRI quotas.
The admission to all vacant seats will be offered strictly in terms of merit to eligible candidates mentioned in the list.
