Candidates must meet all three of the following eligibility requirements in order to be admitted:
The applicant must have passed the Class 12 exam or its equivalent in 2023 or 2024. Regardless of age or category, everyone who is taking or plans to take the Class 12 final exam or its equivalent in 2025 will be eligible to enrol in the NISER/CEBS integrated MSc program.
They must pass the Class 12 final exam with an aggregate score of at least 60 points, or its equivalent grade, from any recognised Indian board. The minimal criteria is 55% for applicants who belong to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Divyangjan. A spot on the NEST 2025 merit list should be guaranteed to the candidate.

- Female applicants: ₹700, regardless of category
- Candidates in the SC/ST/Divyangjan categories: ₹700

Utilising the NEST test
For admission to the NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, the NEST exam is required.
By training “scientific manpower for carrying out cutting-edge scientific research,” NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, established by the center’s Department of Atomic Energy, contribute to the scientific programs of the Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions around the nation.
Through the Department of Atomic Energy’s DISHA program, candidates accepted into the NISER, CEBS program are eligible for an annual scholarship of ₹60,000. The scholarship winners also receive a grant of RS 20,000 year for summer internships.
