The ninth edition of the NIRF India Rankings 2024 was unveiled by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The rankings of leading institutes, colleges, universities, and other categories will be accessible following the announcement on the official NIRF website at nirfindia.org. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also launched the 10th edition during a special event at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Details regarding the parameters
The criteria used for ranking the institutes include teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.
This year, there will be 17 ranking categories, which are Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Innovation, Open University, Skill University, State Public University, and SDG or Sustainability.
A Core Committee established the methodology for ranking institutes, set up by MHRD, to determine the broad parameters for evaluating various universities and institutions. The criteria for ranking institutes encompass teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception. The announcement event takes place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The Minister of State for Education, Sukanto Majumdar, along with other dignitaries, is also present at the event. The rankings of leading institutes, colleges, universities, and other categories will be made available after the announcement on the official NIRF website at nirfindia.org. The category-wise lists will be disclosed by the Education Minister shortly.
“Some institutes have utilized these rankings for marketing purposes, which must be curtailed,” stated Vineet Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.
