The Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) has been awarded to 14 PhD Students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. These students are selected for PMRF through Lateral Entry route. Under the award students will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 70000/- for the first two years; Rs. 75000/- for the third year and Rs. 80000/- for the fourth and fifth year. Also each PMRF fellow will be eligible to receive a research grant of Rs. 2 lakh per year.
The candidates are enrolled in research programmes offered by IIT Guwahati in different departments like Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Centers for Rural Technology, Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment.
To apply for PMRF a candidate requires a valid minimum GATE score of 650
