The Rajasthan government has scrapped interviews for the recruitment of state government employees by amending 44 service rules. Interviews will not be conducted as part of the recruitment procedure for exams except in Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS), subordinate services, and other four services. The minister further stated that such a historic decision was taken to bring transparency to the state recruitment procedure and to clear the doubts of the candidates regarding the interview. Interviews will be conducted for certain posts and specific services as per the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services (Direct Recruitment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 1999. But in these cases, the weightage of the interview will be limited to a maximum of 10 percent of the total marks.
