The Railway Recruitment Boards has announced a rescheduling of the RRB ALP CBT 2 examination, originally set for March 19, 2025. This change affects the first and second shifts on that date at locations where the exam could not be conducted due to unexpected technical difficulties. Candidates are encouraged to refer to the official notice available on the RRBs’ website for more information.
The official communication states, “Due to unforeseen technical issues, the exams planned for 19.03.2025 (Shift-1 & 2) are being rescheduled at centers where the exam could not take place. The new date for the examination will be announced soon. Candidates should regularly check the official website for updates.”
The CBT 2 for Assistant Loco Pilot was initially scheduled for March 19 and 20, 2025. The examination will comprise two sections: Part A and Part B. The total duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes, featuring 175 questions. Part A will include 100 questions to be completed in 90 minutes, while Part B will consist of 75 questions with a 60-minute time limit. The exam will be conducted in English, Hindi, and 12 regional languages.
There will be a negative marking scheme, with one-third of a mark deducted for each incorrect answer. Marks will be normalized for CBTs conducted across multiple shifts. In Part A, the minimum qualifying percentages are set at 40% for UR and EWS candidates, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC candidates, and 25% for ST candidates. Only the scores from Part A will be considered for shortlisting candidates for the next stage of the recruitment process, provided that candidates achieve the qualifying score of 35% in Part B, regardless of their community.
The admit card for the examination was made available on March 15. Candidates can access their hall tickets on the official RRBs’ website. Additionally, the exam city slip was released on March 11, 2025, and can also be found on the official RRBs’ website.
Candidates who have successfully completed the CBT 1 examination are qualified to take the CBT 2 exam.
The RRB is set to recruit 5,696 Assistant Loco Pilot positions within the organization. The registration period commenced on January 20 and ended on February 19, 2024. For additional information, candidates may refer to the official RRB website.
