The government of Tamil Nadu is set to issue the notification for RTE Admissions 2025 on October 6, 2025. The application process for enrolling in private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic session 2025-26 will begin on October 9, 2025.
This decision to publish the notification was made following the Centre’s release of the state’s allocated share of approximately ₹700 crore.
In a statement, the Tamil Nadu school education department declared, “The Government of Tamil Nadu announces the initiation of admissions under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (RTE Act) for the academic year 2025-26.” This announcement comes after the Government of India released the state’s due share of RTE reimbursement funds. Furthermore, a special online admission window lasting 10 days has been established to regularize the enrollment of eligible children who have already been admitted under the RTE quota.
School principals are tasked with identifying eligible students, securing written consent from parents, and submitting the total number of seats filled in entry-level classes by October 7, 2025. The final list of eligible children for admission under the RTE will be published on October 14, 2025. For additional information, candidates are encouraged to visit the official RTE website for Tamil Nadu.
