The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced an increase in the number of vacancies to be filled through the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2024. According to the most recent updates, the commission will now fill a total of 18,174 vacancies through this examination. Initially, the commission had indicated that 17,727 vacancies in Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ of the central government would be addressed through CGL 2024. Candidates can view the distribution of vacancies by post on the official website, ssc.gov.in.
Additionally, the SSC has made available the option-cum-preference form for CGL 2024.
The result for the SSC CGL tier 1 was announced on December 5, 2024. Candidates who were shortlisted participated in the tier 2 examination from January 18 to 20, and again on January 31, 2025.
Prior to the announcement of the final results, candidates who took the tier 2 exam are required to submit their option-cum-preference for posts and departments.
This submission window will remain accessible until February 27 at 5 PM through the candidate login on the commission’s website.
Candidates are advised that the Option-cum-Preference(s) can only be modified during this specified period, and the last submitted preferences will be considered final. It is imperative for candidates to ensure that they submit the form by clicking the “SUBMIT” button after entering their preferences. Those who do not exercise their Option-cum-Preference(s) within the designated timeframe will not have another opportunity to submit and will be excluded from the final merit list and selection process, as stated by the SSC.
Furthermore, candidates with disabilities (PwBD) are reminded to submit preferences solely for those posts deemed suitable for their specific disabilities.
The commission has urged candidates to thoroughly review the examination notification and confirm that they meet the necessary criteria for the positions before submitting their preference forms.
Candidates who fail to submit their preferences within the specified timeframe will not be included in the final results, according to the commission’s announcement.
