The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducted the Constable (GD) examination from February 4 to February 25, 2025, to fill 39,481 positions within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the SSF, the Rifleman (GD) in the Assam Rifles, and the Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau.
However, on April 21, the SSC issued a new notification that increased the total number of vacancies from 39,481 to an impressive 53,690. These positions are to be filled in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the SSF, the Rifleman (GD) in the Assam Rifles, and the Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
The majority of these vacancies will be allocated to the CISF, BSF, and CRPF. Specifically, out of the 53,690 vacancies, CISF will fill 16,571 positions, BSF will fill 16,371, CRPF will fill 14,359, ITBP will fill 3,468, Assam Rifles will fill 1,865, SSB will fill 902, SSF will fill 132, and NCB will fill 22 vacancies.
Of the total 53,690 vacancies, only 5,370 are designated for female candidates, while the remaining 48,320 are reserved for male candidates.
The SSC has yet to announce the results for the SSC (GD) Constable 2025 examination. Previously, the SSC released a Response cum Tentative answer key, which was available for challenges from March 4, 2025 (06:00 PM) to March 9, 2025 (06:00 PM) for a fee of INR 100. Once released, the final answer key will be accessible on the SSC’s official website at ssc.gov.in.
After the final answer key and the list of selected candidates are published, both male and female candidates who are shortlisted based on merit in the SSC GD exam will be invited for the physical efficiency test (PET), physical standard test (PST), and the medical examination/document verification process.
The number of candidates selected for the PST/PET will be eight times the number of available vacancies.
