NEW DELHI — The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially rescheduled the Constable (General Duty) examination originally slated for May 28, 2026. The examination has been pulled forward by one day and will now be conducted on May 27, 2026.
The rescheduling affects candidates appearing for the Constable (GD) positions across the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and the Rifleman (GD) posts in the Assam Rifles.
Reason for the Schedule Change
According to an official communique from the SSC Headquarters, the adjustment was made in response to an administrative modification in the public holiday calendar.
The decision follows an Office Memorandum (F. No. 12/3/2023-JCA) issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T), which officially revised the observed date for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid). To accommodate the holiday shift smoothly, the commission altered the examination date for the impacted sessions.
