The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha will conduct the class 12 theory exams from February 18 to March 21. CHSE Chairman Mrunal Kanti Das announced the detailed schedule for the Higher Secondary Examination 2026, stating that practical exams will take place from January 2 to January 15, and that admit cards will be accessible online starting December 15.
A total of 400,736 students have registered for the 2026 examinations. Among them, 256,042 will participate in the Arts stream, 114,238 in the Science stream, 24,533 in Commerce, and 5,923 in the Vocational stream, according to Das.
The CHSE chairman noted that the examinations will be held in 1,350 centers throughout the state, all under CCTV surveillance. The council plans to establish 210 exam hubs for the secure storage of question papers.
These hubs will be outfitted with AI-assisted cameras, and practical exam centers will feature webcast and live-streaming capabilities. Last year, 1,268 exam centers were organized, as stated by CHSE controller of examinations, Prasanta Kumar Parida.
This year, each district will have two units of flying squads, consisting of six members and two vehicles, to carry out surprise inspections aimed at detecting any malpractice, Parida further explained.
