The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has announced that the release date for the GATE Admit Card 2026 has been delayed. Originally, the admit card was set to be released on January 2, 2026, but this has now been postponed. The new release date will be communicated soon and will be accessible on the official IIT GATE website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
According to the official website, “The release date of the GATE 2026 admit card has been postponed. The revised release date will be announced soon.”
The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The exam will be conducted in two sessions: the first session, or forenoon session, will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and the second session, or afternoon session, will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
GATE 2026 will feature 30 different test papers. Candidates are permitted to appear for either one or up to two test papers.

Candidates intending to take the exam can download their admit card by following the simple steps outlined below.
- Navigate to the official IIT GATE website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Click on the link for GATE Admit Card 2026 located on the home page.
- A new page will appear where candidates must input their login credentials.
- Click on submit, and your admit card will be displayed.
- Review the admit card and proceed to download it.
