The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the timetable for the Civil Services Mains Examination, 2025 on its official website, upsc.gov.in. According to the schedule, the examination will commence on August 22 (Friday) with the essay paper and will conclude on August 31 with the optional subject (paper 2).
The examinations will take place in two sessions: session 1 from 9 am to 12 pm and session 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
This year, UPSC is organizing the Civil Services Examination (CSE) for a total of 979 vacancies, which include:
- 38 vacancies designated for candidates under the Benchmark Disability category,
- 12 vacancies for candidates with blindness or low vision,
- 7 vacancies for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing,
- 10 vacancies for candidates with locomotor disabilities,
- and 9 vacancies for those with multiple disabilities, including deaf-blindness.
The UPSC CSE Prelims examination was conducted on May 25, 2025. It comprised two objective-type papers (MCQs), each with a duration of two hours and a maximum score of 200 marks.
The results of the Prelims were announced in June.
Following the written examination of the Mains, UPSC will conduct the Interview/Personality Test phase and subsequently announce the final results.
