UPSC CMS 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the notification and initiated the online application process for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) for the year 2025.
This year, the examination will be conducted for approximately 705 positions:
Category-I
Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of the Central Health Service – 226 positions
Category-II
- Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways – 450 positions
- General Duty Medical Officer in the New Delhi Municipal Council – 9 positions
- General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi – 20 positions
Candidates may submit their applications through upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in until March 11. It is essential for all candidates to have their one-time registration (OTR) profiles established prior to applying.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Fee for UPSC CMS 2025
Age Limit: To be eligible for the UPSC CMS examination for positions other than the Medical Officers Grade in the General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Services, candidates must be under 32 years of age as of August 1, 2025. This stipulation indicates that candidates for Category II positions must have been born on or after August 2, 1993.
For Category I (Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Services), the upper age limit is set at 35 years as of August 1, 2025. Candidates from reserved categories are entitled to age relaxation in accordance with applicable regulations.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must successfully complete both the written and practical components of the final MBBS examination. Those who have yet to take or have already taken the final examination are also permitted to apply, provided they can furnish proof of passing the exam within the timeframe specified in the examination notification.
Valid documentation includes degree certificates, final mark sheets, provisional degree certificates, etc., issued by the appropriate authority. Additionally, candidates who have not yet completed the compulsory rotating internship are still considered educationally eligible to sit for the examination.
