The Union Public Service Commission has initiated the registration process for the UPSC CSE Mains for candidates who successfully passed the first stage – Prelims. This year, a total of 14,161 candidates have cleared the UPSC CSE Prelims and are set to participate in the Mains.
Only those individuals who have successfully completed the prelims are qualified to apply for the UPSC Mains. Aspirants must visit the official website, upsconline.nic.in, to complete the application form and register for the examination. The application deadline is June 25.
The UPSC Mains will commence on August 22 and will conclude within five days of its start. For the CSE Mains application form, general candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 200; however, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD categories, as well as female applicants, are exempt from the registration fee.
UPSC CSE Mains 2025: Application Procedure
Step 1: Search for the official UPSC website on your browser – upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in
Step 2: Log in to the portal using the registration ID and password created during the UPSC registration process.
Step 3: Input the candidates’ details (Name, Date of Birth, Category, etc.)
Step 4: Provide your educational qualifications and attach the necessary documents.
Step 5: Enter employment information. If applicable, include job title, job description, organization name, duration of employment, and responsibilities.
Step 6: Choose your service preferences. Arrange the services in your desired order.
Step 7: Additional information will also be required, such as hobbies, achievements, and extracurricular activities.
Step 8: Upload valid and relevant documents, including a photograph, signature, and a government-approved photo ID card.
Step 9: Thoroughly review all the information provided and submit the UPSC CSE DAF 2025 along with the registration fee of Rs 200.
Candidates have the opportunity to update details such as scribe information, assistive devices, or requirements for large font during this period. Those who have undergone name changes may also submit their gazette notifications. The results for the UPSC CSE Prelims are available on upsc.gov.in, indicating the candidates eligible for Main 2025 registration. The results of four candidates are currently withheld due to ongoing legal proceedings.
The UPSC will publish the marks, cutoff marks, and answer keys for the CSE Prelims on upsc.gov.in only after the completion of the entire Civil Services Examination and Indian Forest Service Examination process, and once the final results have been announced.
