The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2021 is rescheduled. Now the examination will be held on 10 October 2021. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has rescheduled the examination due to Covid-19 crisis. Earlier this examination was scheduled on 27 June 2021.
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination is screening test to short list candidates to apply for Civil Services Main Examination. The candidates qualified in the Main Examination are called by the commission for Interview. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in Main Examination and Interview.
In the preliminary examination objective type questions are asked. Candidates qualified in the Civil Services Preliminary Examination are eligible to apply for Civil Services Main Examination and Indian Forest Services Examination. The UPSC recommends name of finally selected candidates to Government of India for recruitment under different administrative positions.
