The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has officially announced the results for WBJEE 2025 online. The results can be accessed online at the official website – wbjeeb.nic.in.
Despite the examination taking place on April 27, the announcement of results experienced an unexpected delay this year due to a legal dispute, which incited protests within political circles. On August 18, Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the state assembly, cautioned that BJP legislators would organize dharnas outside the headquarters of the state education department if the results were not released within the week.
While declaring the results, board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee stated that the results were published in the interest of students once the legal matter regarding their release was resolved.
The top rank holders include Aniruddha Chakrabarti from Don Bosco School, Park Circus, Samyajyoti Biswas from Kalyani Central Model School, Dishant Basu and Aritro Ray from Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, Trishanjit Doloi from PURV International School Durgapur, and Sagnik Patra from Midnapore Collegiate School.
On Monday, the WBJEE Board released a circular instructing candidates to upload their SC, ST, and OBC certificates on the official website. The submission period concluded on Thursday, removing the final obstacle for the publication of results.
“The WBJEE results have been published,” board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee informed PTI. She reiterated that the results were declared in the interest of students once the legal issue surrounding their publication was resolved.

In addressing those who have not met expectations, the Chief Minister extended words of encouragement. “To those who, for various reasons, were unable to achieve satisfactory results, I encourage you not to lose hope but to prepare for improved outcomes in the future,” she remarked.
Banerjee also recognized the delay in this year’s results announcement, attributing it to legal complications. Nevertheless, she conveyed her confidence in the resilience and potential of the students.
“By overcoming all challenges, you will attain greater success in the future and bring pride to Bengal,” she stated. “The number of candidates appearing for the board examinations indicates that a significant percentage of students came from the higher secondary examination conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, with state-run plus two level candidates constituting over 50 percent of the total candidates who appeared,” the chairperson noted.
To access the results, candidates are required to visit the WBJEEB website and click on the link labeled “Rank Card for WBJEE 2025.” After entering their application number, date of birth, and security pin, the results will be displayed. It is recommended to save a copy for future reference.
The WBJEE 2025 rank card will contain the candidate’s name, roll number, category, rank, total marks, and subject-specific scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Although the results were finalized by June 5, legal issues concerning the OBC category list delayed their release. The Calcutta High Court expressed concerns, but the Supreme Court subsequently stayed that order, allowing for the announcement of results.
Qualified candidates will need to engage in the WBJEE 2025 counselling process. Seats will be allocated based on ranks, scores, and availability at participating institutes.
