The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the postponement of the 71st Integrated Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination for the year 2025. Originally set for September 10, the examination will now take place on September 13.
Additionally, the commission has stated that the Assistant Section Officer, BPSC (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, as per advertisement number 37/2025, will occur on September 10 instead of September 13.

Recently, BPSC has increased the number of vacancies for the 71st CCE by 34, bringing the total vacancies available through this examination to 1,298.
Candidates who possess a graduation degree or an equivalent qualification and meet the specified age limits for each post are eligible to participate in this examination.
The BPSC CCE preliminary examination functions as a screening test for the subsequent mains examination. It consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions and has a duration of two hours, during which candidates are required to answer 150 questions.
There will be a penalty of 1/3rd of the marks for incorrect answers in the preliminary examination.
Candidates were required to pay a biometric fee of ₹200 along with an application fee of ₹600 for the examination. Candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories from Bihar, female candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar, and Divyang candidates with a disability of 40 percent or more were required to pay a reduced fee of ₹150.
