The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that the CBSE Class 10 sports examination will take place concurrently with the second board exam in May 2026. Candidates wishing to participate in the exam can refer to the official notice available on the CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
According to the official notice, the Board has determined that the sports exam for Class 10 will occur alongside the second board exam. The first board exam is scheduled for February 2025.
Students are required to complete the List of Candidates (LOC) for the main exam as a mandatory step. The LOC for all students engaged in sports events will be submitted together with that of other students to confirm their eligibility for the Second Board Examinations, should the exam dates overlap with their sports events.
Students involved in sports will be permitted to take the second examinations in subjects whose exams coincide with their sports events or travel only.
The Board will not organize a separate sports exam following the first or second board examinations. If a sports student participates in the second Board examination and is categorized as a compartment candidate, the Compartment Examination will be conducted the following year in February/March.
Nevertheless, the Class 12 scheme remains unchanged. CBSE has clarified that for students whose travel or sports events conflict with the examination schedule, these examinations will be rescheduled after the completion of the first examinations.
