The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is currently accepting online applications for the Single Girl Child Scholarship for the year 2025. Eligible students who intend to apply for the merit scholarship or seek renewal may submit their applications through the official website at cbse.gov.in.
The scholarships available include:
- Single Girl Child Scholarship – Class 10 (2025 Scheme): This is for students who completed Class 10 in 2025 from CBSE and are presently enrolled in Class 11 at CBSE affiliated schools.
Single Girl Child Scholarship – Class 10 2024 (Renewal in 2025): This pertains to the renewal of the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship awarded for Class 10 in 2024. - It is important for students to note that the deadline for scholarship applications is October 23, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The scholarships are awarded to meritorious single girl students who are the sole child of their parents, have successfully passed the CBSE Class 10 Examination with a minimum of 70% marks, and are pursuing further education in Class 11 and 12 at CBSE affiliated schools, where the tuition fee does not exceed Rs. 2,500 per month.
- This scholarship is exclusively available to Indian Nationals.
- Students must continue their studies in Class 10 and 12 at schools affiliated with CBSE.
- Students who have completed the CBSE Class 10 Examination in 2025 will be eligible for consideration.
- Students with a gross parental or family income of up to Rs. 8 lakh per annum qualify for the scholarship under this scheme.
Duration of the scholarship and its renewal
According to CBSE, the scholarship granted will be renewed for a duration of one year. The renewal is also contingent upon the student’s promotion to the next class, provided that she achieves an aggregate score of 70% or higher in the examination that determines her advancement to the next class.
To qualify for renewal, a student must have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship in the previous year.
