In a significant overhaul of its examination framework, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Final examination will now be conducted three times a year, thereby providing students with increased opportunities.
Previously, ICAI had declared that the CA Intermediate and Foundation examinations would also take place three times annually. With this latest update, all three levels—CA Final, Intermediate, and Foundation—will now offer an equal number of attempts each year.
ICAI has scheduled these examinations for January, May, and September.
Additionally, the Post Qualification Course (PQC) in Information Systems Audit will see changes as well. The Assessment Test for this course, which was previously held twice a year in June and December, will now occur three times a year, specifically in February, June, and October.
Commenting on the council’s decision, ICAI President CA Charanjot Singh Nanda stated, “These groundbreaking decisions will greatly benefit both students and members, providing them with enhanced opportunities for success. This initiative signifies a new chapter in our commitment to support and guide future Chartered Accountants. ICAI is dedicated to the continuous growth of its members and students. This landmark decision will ensure that both students and professionals have ample opportunities to thrive in their careers.”
