The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started Diploma in Value Education (DPVE) Programme. Students with 12 years of schools education i.e. 10+2 pass from any recognized board or university are eligible to apply.
The Diploma in Value Education program has aims to prepare trained elementary school teachers who can add better values in students and academics. The DPVE programme will be offered both in January and July sessions and the admission fee is Rs 4000.
The one-year DPVE programme will teach topics like overview and perspective of values, socio-psychological basis, pedagogy of values, application, support skills and activities, life skills education, human rights in India. The DPVE program coordinators are Dr Grace Don Nemching and Prof.B.K.Pattanaik.
The new diploma course will prepare elementary school teachers those can integrate values in their transactional process of teaching and learning and thus focus on to add positive values in teachers, professionals, students, parents and the community.
