Income Tax Recruitment 2026: Apply for 97 Steno, Tax Assistant and MTS posts

The Income Tax Department has announced the opening of applications for the positions of Stenographer, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). This recruitment initiative aims to fill a total of 97 vacancies within the organization. Below are the details regarding eligibility, selection process, and additional information.

Vacancy Details

1. Stenographer Grade II: 12 positions
2. Tax Assistant: 47 positions
3. Multi-Tasking Staff: 38 positions

Eligibility Criteria

1. Stenographer: Candidates must have completed the 12th grade or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University.
2. Tax Assistant: A degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification is required.
3. Multi-Tasking Staff: Candidates should have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit, with preference given to sportspersons as outlined by the Department of Personnel and Training. The highest priority will be given to candidates who have represented the country in an International Competition, with the endorsement of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Application Fee
The application fee is set at ₹200/-. This fee must be paid exclusively through online methods, and proof of payment must accompany the application.

Other Details
Candidates are permitted to apply for multiple positions within a single application; however, only one application should be submitted per candidate. Any candidate who submits more than one application will have all applications rejected. If a candidate wishes to be considered for multiple games or sports, they may indicate their preferred options while completing the single application form. Under no circumstances should a candidate submit more than one application.
