The application period for the “Young Scientist Programme” (YUva VIgyani KAryakram), known as YUVIKA, organized by ISRO, will close on March 23, 2025.

As stated on the official site, the Indian Space Research Organisation is hosting the “Young Scientist Programme” to provide foundational knowledge in Space Technology, Space Science, and Space Applications to young learners, fostering interest in the latest developments in these fields. This initiative aims to “Catch them young” and is designed to inspire more students to engage in careers and research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The selection criteria for participants in YUVIKA-2025 will include the following factors:
- Marks achieved in the Class 8 examination
- Performance in the online quiz
- Participation in science fairs (at school, district, state, or higher levels within the last three years)
- Ranking in Olympiads or equivalent competitions (1st to 3rd place at school, district, state, or higher levels within the last three years)
- Achievements in sports competitions (1st to 3rd place at school, district, state, or higher levels within the last three years)
- Membership in Scouts and Guides, NCC, or NSS within the last three years
- Enrollment in a village or rural school located in a Panchayat area
Key Dates:
- Registration deadline: March 24, 2025
- First selection list release: April 7, 2025
- Reporting date for selected students at designated ISRO centers: May 18, 2025, or as notified by ISRO via the student’s registered email
