For direct admission into the third semester or second-year engineering courses, as well as to qualify for first-year architecture courses, document verification for candidates who have obtained a DCET rank will occur from June 10 to 13 at government and aided polytechnic colleges. This information was provided by H. Prasanna, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
The KEA website has published a list of 37 colleges where document verification will be conducted. Candidates are required to visit one of the nearby colleges in person. Prior to this, candidates must schedule an appointment date in advance, as indicated in the official notification.
Candidates must bring all original educational documents that substantiate the claims made during the online application, along with certificates pertaining to special categories (such as NCC, sports, defense personnel, ex-servicemen, CAPF, ex-CAPF — only if claimed) without exception, he further clarified.
In the meantime, the Authority has introduced three digital initiatives—a college portal, a mobile application, and a chatbot—to enhance processes for students. Higher Education Minister Dr. M C Sudhakar inaugurated these tools during a ceremony at the Higher Education Council’s seminar hall, praising KEA for utilizing technology to deliver timely and accurate information while minimizing dependence on intermediaries.
The college portal consolidates information to aid students in selecting colleges prior to the application process. Previously, students depended on disparate sources, which often resulted in uninformed decisions and subsequent requests for changes. Colleges can now directly upload information, including details about infrastructure, academic environment, laboratories, libraries, classrooms, hostels, course fees, and faculty profiles.
