This year, the Class 8 board examinations in the state took place from February 19 to March 7, 2025. The exams were conducted in a single shift, running from 11 AM to 2:15 PM each day. Approximately 300,000 candidates participated in the examination.

In the previous year, the Punjab Board Class 8 results were released on April 30, with an overall pass percentage of 98.31%. Out of 291,917 students who took the exam, 286,987 successfully passed.
The pass rate for boys was recorded at 97.84%, while girls achieved a pass rate of 98.83%. The Board has revealed the top performers: Harnoorpreet Kaur from Bathinda secured the first position with a perfect score of 600 out of 600, followed by Gurleen Kaur from Amritsar with 598 marks in second place, and Armandeep Singh from Sangrur, who ranked third with 597 marks.
