The West Bengal Higher Education Department has initiated the West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) 2025 for undergraduate admissions. According to the official admission announcement, online registration commenced today, June 18. The registration link was activated at 10 am.
Eligible candidates may submit their applications through any of the following official websites – banglaruchchashiksha.wb.gov.in, wbsche.wb.gov.in, or directly via wbcap.in by selecting the “Centralised Admission” button. It is important to note that there is no application fee associated with the registration process.
In the previous admission cycle, the online portal was opened on June 19, following the release of higher secondary exam results on May 8. Approximately 4,44,190 students gained admission to 461 colleges across 16 universities.
The WBCAP 2025 portal is designed for admissions to undergraduate programs in 460 government and government-aided General Degree Colleges and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including universities throughout West Bengal.

Which colleges are not included in the WBCAP system?
The following institutions are excluded from the Centralised Online Admission Portal:
–Presidency University
–Jadavpur University
–Autonomous Colleges
–Minority Educational Institutions/Colleges
–Training Colleges
–Law Colleges/Universities
–Institutions offering courses in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Crafts, Dance, and Music
–Colleges providing Engineering courses.
–Colleges providing Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical programs
–Self-financing/Private Institutions
What additional information has been provided in the official WBCAP 2025 notification?
Each candidate is permitted to apply for a maximum of 25 programs or courses across one or more Higher Educational Institutions within the state. Candidates may also establish preferences among the chosen programs or institutions.
